Job Opportunity: Police Officer

This position works rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. High call volume and a fast-paced environment are part of being a City of Grants Pass Police Officer.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS - Graduation from High School or GED and 1 year of work experience are required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job, must be 21 years of age at time of hire, meet physical standards as set by the Department of Public Safety on Standards and Training (DPSST), have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain an Oregon Class C License with 30 days of employment, DPSST Basic Police Certificate following completing of training (within 12 months of employment), and obtain the Law Enforcement Data System Certificate within 60 days of assignment.

INCENTIVES - In addition to base salary, incentives available to Police Officers include:

* Associate Degree 2.5% * Bachelor degree 5%

* Second language 1.25% * DPSST Intermediate Certificate 2.25%

* DPSST Advanced Certificate 2.25%
