Now, more than ever, is an exciting time to join the City and be a part of growth and planning that will positively impact our community for years to come.
The Grants Pass Parks Division is part of the Community Development Department and is responsible for managing and maintaining 20+ parks and green spaces, hiking trails, playgrounds, and the Caveman Pool. The Superintendent and employees manage and coordinate the recreation program, the urban forest program, and serve as liaisons to the Urban Tree Committee. Our staff is busy with 1,462 acres of land, two spray parks, a skate park, playgrounds, trails and park reserve land. The division’s mission is to provide a safe, interconnected, and sustainable system of vibrant parks, thriving green spaces, and quality recreation opportunities to enhance our community.
Our public parks are used by a broad cross-section of the community and provide a central location for events such as Boatnik and the Back to the 50’s car show. Current projects include Dollar Mountain wildland fuel reduction, recreational use planning and development, playground replacement, Caveman Pool renovation planning, and maintenance projects throughout the park system.
