GRANTS PASS – The Grants Pass City Council invites interested citizens to apply to serve on a city committee or commission. There are currently several openings for terms on four different committees designed to provide input and recommendations to the council about specific areas.
There is one opening on the city’s Housing Advisory Committee. Special qualifications for this position include ownership of a rental property. The Housing Advisory Committee explores opportunities to facilitate provision of housing for all income levels, promotes public awareness of housing resources, and promotes public participation in identifying and addressing housing issues and needs. Deadline to submit an application is 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14.
There is one opening on the city’s Tourism Advisory Committee. The goal of the Committee is to encourage visitors and residents to engage in community activities while enhancing the positive image of our City through marketing, promotions and destination management. Deadline to submit an application is 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4.
There is one opening on the city’s Parks Advisory Committee. The council desires to have a balance of viewpoints and demographic representation on this committee to include individuals with interest or experience representing athletic leagues, individuals knowledgeable in natural resource preservation, people involved with recurring park events, frequent park users, and individuals who use park family play-friendly facilities. Deadline to apply for this position is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8.
There is one opening on the city’s Historical Buildings and Sites Commission. Special qualifications for this position include residing in the city and ownership of a business located within the city’s Central Business District. Deadline to apply for this position is 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11.
