GRANTS PASS – Based upon weather forecasts by Accuweather and Underground Weather, the City of Grants Pass has extended steep slope hazard area construction timeframes until Oct. 30.

In accordance with Code Section 13.104, general provisions for construction in the city’s steep slope hazard area require that construction work disturbing the soil or affecting the natural drainage and runoff within steep slope areas shall be scheduled to terminate no later than Oct. 15. A steep slope hazard area is defined as containing a slope of at least 15 percent.

Section 13.104(3) of the Code provides for a maximum extension of 30 days. The city’s Community Development Department will review conditions approaching Oct. 30 and determine whether a second extension can be granted until Nov. 15.
