GIS Tech.The City of Grants Pass GIS Division facilitates geospatial data for every city department along with providing exceptional service to citizens, developers, clients, and various local, state or federal agencies. Our team is dynamic and relies heavily on communication and the ability to adapt to various complex needs and changing technology.  There's never a dull moment and your GIS skill sets will quickly grow. 

Position Summary: A GIS Technician updates tabular and spatial records, produces and maintains various forms of geospatial data, including but not limited to mobile aps, web maps and custom prints. As a technician with the City of Grants Pass you will be responsible for website/portal updates and fielding citizen/client requests. A tech is also expected to keep a positive attitude and engage a variety of internal departments in order to maintain a robust and accurate GIS database. The preferred candidate will be able to adapt to a wide range of varied workflow, be self-motivated in pursuing proficiency within their field and eager to provide exceptional customer service to our many clients.

Minimum Qualifications:  An Associate's Degree in a related field and two years of experience in GIS and database management are required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and must be proficient in ArcGIS Pro. Preference will be given to those with experience in specialized toolsets like Topology Rules, Utility Networks, Attribute Rules, and/or using ESRI's Arcade or Python language.
