Applications are being accepted for two positions on the Historical Buildings and Sites Commission due to an expiring term and a vacancy.
The committee’s purpose is to review proposed alterations to any Historic District or designated structure in the Urban Growth Boundary; to promote the community historic preservation; to advise other interested agencies on matters related to historic preservation; and to identify areas of archeological significance and buildings of historic or archeological significance. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be a resident of the City of Grants Pass. The special qualifications for one of these positions is a representative who is either the owner of a property located within the Historic district, the owner of a property located within a Conservation District, or the owner of a Historic Landmark as defined by Section 13.312 of the Development Code and Designated under Section 13.420 of the Development Code. This is a four-year appointment. The other position is a citizen at large.

Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2019. Applications will be reviewed by the commission on Thursday, January 9, 2019. Applicants will be interviewed by the Council at the Council Workshop on Monday, January 13, 2019. Appointments will be made by the Council at the City of Grants Pass Council meeting on Wednesday, January 15, 2019.
