PUBLIC WORKS IS HOSTING A SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT CHARGE COMMUNITY FORUM
The Public Works Department will host a Public Forum to discuss potential changes to System Development Charges (SDCs) on November 5, 2019. The forum will be an opportunity for the public to hear about potential changes to the SDC structure, potential programs to assist in the development of affordable housing and measures to assist development during an economic downturn. It will also be an opportunity to hear how SDCs are calculated and get a look at proposed new rate structures. Attendees will be asked to provide written feedback on the proposed changes. City Council will be on hand to hear your feedback.
Ensuring City utilities are financially sustainable is a high priority of the City Council. To fulfill this goal, the City has undertaken a comprehensive water and wastewater rate study to evaluate the current rates and to plan for future rate increases to ensure projects can be funded while endeavoring to keep the rates affordable. Revisions to the System Development Charges is the final step in the rate study.
