GRANTS PASS – The Fall Leaf Collection Program in Grants Pass will be conducted Nov. 1 through Dec. 13 by subscription with residents’ local refuse haulers. Refuse subscribers needing to bag extra leaves or requiring extra green waste cans should contact their trash provider. Nonsubscribers will need to haul their leaves to a transfer station location. Customers may download a free mobile app to receive service day reminders from both providers. For more information contact Republic Services: (541)479-3371, or Southern Oregon Sanitation: (541)479-5335.
The City of Grants Pass has a street sweeping schedule available to residents within city limits. Residents can sign up to be notified when their streets will be swept, and are encouraged to remove vehicles and trashcans off the street on the day of their sweeping zone schedule. Blowing or sweeping of leaves into the street for the street sweeper is not allowed. Leaves should be picked up and put in green waste bins. Unmanaged leaf piles can clog city storm drains.
Blackberry brambles and other yard waste may be burned on burn days during the open burn window Oct. 26 through Nov 3. Open burning within City limits requires a permit, which cost $10, and are available at the Parkway Public Safety Center, 800 E. Park St. Permits are on sale now, and will be sold through Friday, Nov. 1. Office hours are 8 a.m. to noon, and 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No refunds will be issued for unused permits.
