Accepting Applications for Transportation Planning Citizen Advisory Committee

The City of Grants Pass is still accepting applications for five positions on the Transportation Planning Citizen Advisory Committee.


This citizen advisory committee reviews work products and makes recommendations regarding the planning work for the Grants Pass Transportation System Plan update and the Interstate 5 Exit 55 and 58 Interchange Area Management Plans.  Members will serve until recommendations have been made on the final work products for the Grants Pass Transportation System Plan update and the I-5 Exit 55 and 58 Interchange Area Management Plans.  This is estimated to be 18 months.


City Council appointments will consist of:

  • A representative from a business or an organization representing businesses, who can effectively represent diverse business perspectives (Chamber of Commerce, individual commercial or industrial business, etc.);
  • A representative involved in the development of real property, who can effectively represent both long-term and short-term perspectives and issues associated with transportation planning and real property development;
  • A representative who can effectively advocate for the transportation needs of people of all ages, abilities, and income levels, including youth, seniors, and people with disabilities, (with knowledge of and emphasis on issues such as “complete streets,” walking, biking, safe routes to schools, transit, accessibility, universal design, public health benefits of active transportation, livability, walk scores, land use and transportation relationships, etc.); and
  • Two citizens at large, with a constructive interest in proactive transportation planning and livability.

A Street, or online at www.grantspassoregon.gov/committee-application.  Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2018.  Appointments will be made by the Council at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
