Backflow assemblies require annual testing by a qualified backflow tester.
Testers are required to turn in test reports within 10 days of testing
The backflow testers listed at the bottom of the page are certified through the Oregon Health Authority, Drinking Water Program, and maintain a business license with the City of Grants Pass.
If you have any questions concerning backflow requirements or backflow testing, please contact the City's Cross Connection Control Specialist at 541-450-6115 or 541-218-7676 (cell)
The City of Grants Pass Residential Backflow Testing Program, established in 2004, provides for the automatic annual testing and repair of backflow assemblies.
Each year from March 1 through November 15, the residential backflow program tester performs the annual test. Repairs and maintenance are preformed as needed.
Single-family dwellings are charged an additional two dollars per month charge on their water bill to pay for this service. You do not need to contact the backflow tester unless your backflow assembly is not readily accessible.
The City of Grants Pass contract with Precision Backflow Testing for residential backflow testing runs through 2021.
Multi-family, Commercial & Industrial Customers
The City of Grants Pass provides a yearly reminder letter with a list of the backflow assemblies which are due for testing and the following list of backflow testers. Customers are given 30 days to have their assemblies tested. The backflow tester is required to provide the City with the completed test reports.
