COMMENTS Medium growth rate (13-24" per year). Silver green foliage. Noted as the most drought tolerant of the Tilias. Leaves are aphid resistant. 'Sterling' is the most popular cultivar. Arbor Day Foundation: "The silver linden is very versatile—growing in acidic, alkaline, loamy, moist, sandy, well-drained and clay soils. While it prefers moist conditions, the tree has moderate drought tolerance... Silver linden flowers are highly attractive to bees." Features: fall color, flowers. Full sun. Approved cultivars include 'Green Mountain' and 'Sterling.'
