COMMENTS A narrowly pyramidal spruce that is perhaps the most widely adaptable of the genus. This tree is a good alternative to the Colorado blue spruce, which can struggle in warmer climates. Prune up for clearance. Cultivars of interest: 'Bruns' and 'Silberblau' ('Silverblue'). Avoid weeping or extremely compact cultivars ('Pendula Bruns' is quite unique, but should be reserved for private landscapes). Features: evergreen, wildlife. Full sun.
