COMMENTS Clusters of fragrant white flowers in spring. Yellow foliage in fall. Tolerant of alkaline and acid soils, dry sites, and clay soil. Some characteristics to watch out for are tight branching leading to breakage and splitting; surface roots. OSU: "Well-drained soil. Tolerates alkaline and acid pH soils, native to limestone cliffs and ridges." Features: flowers, fall color. Full sun.
