Heart-shaped leaves are dark green in summer and yellow in fall. 'Redmond' is the acceptable cultivar as its bark is less susceptible to heat damage when young. OSU: "Best in deep, moist, fertile soil, but tolerates drier, heavier soils." Surface roots typically do not cause any issues. Extremely attractive to birds and polinators. Approved cultivars include 'Redmond' and 'Boulevard.' Other cultivars must be approved by Urban Forester prior to planting. |
