The City Recorder has two roles: as City Recorder and as the Elections Officer.
City Recorder
- Acts as custodian for City ordinances, resolutions, deeds and contracts
- Maintains accurate records of all business proceedings of the Council
- Maintains official records for the City
- Serves as clerk to the City Council
Elections Officer
- Assists candidates as they run for office
- Assists citizens filing initiative petitions
- Provides election information to citizens
- Works closely with the county during election years
