"Trees and their many benefits to our communities have never been more important. Proper tree planting and care today will help ensure cleaner, healthier, more tree-filled cities and towns tomorrow."
- John Rosenow, President, National Arbor Day Foundation
Purpose
The Grants Pass Urban Tree Advisory Committee was established on March 2, 1988 to review, develop and implement programs and activities which promote, protect and enhance the urban forest as a part of the Tree City USA program.
Committee responsibilities include:
- Activities to promote interest in the value of urban trees through community education, scheduling arbor events and encouraging tree planting and care; and
- Reviewing the urban forestry program and making recommendations to the Council regarding that program.
Through Committee and City efforts, the City of Grants Pass has been named "Tree City USA" by the National Arbor Day Foundation for the past 20 years.
Committee Meetings
The Grants Pass Urban Tree Advisory Committee meets monthly at 7:00 p.m. in the Courtyard Conference Room of the Municipal Building at 101 NW A Street in Grants Pass. Please check the calendar for confirmation of meeting dates and times.
