The following is the tentative information for the Fall 2010 Yard Waste Recycling Program (Dates are subject to change):
Fall 2010 Yard Waste Recycling
WHEN: October 25 through December 10, 2010
Leaves and small branches are collected and recycled free of charge for city residents (no businesses).
VEGETATION MUST BE BAGGED.
Branches should be tied in bundles not more than 4 feet long or have a diameter of no more than 3 inches. Leaves and small branches must be placed on curb by 8 a.m. on the pick-up days:
Northwest area --- Mondays
Northeast area --- Tuesdays
Southwest area --- Wednesdays
Southeast area --- Thursdays
NOTHING over 40 pounds, and no garbage, sod, dirt, grass clippings, rocks, gravel, or lumber is accepted.
Yard waste may also be brought to JO-GRO™ for $1.00/yd3, $2.00 minimum.
Home composting information is available at Allied Waste and Southern Oregon Sanitation (SOS). An onsite display of composting units can be seen at SOS. For more details, or if your home is missed, call 541-479-9742.
There will be no pick ups during the week of Thanksgiving - November 22-26.
Fall Burn Window
Blackberry brambles and other yard waste too awkward for the free pick-up may be burned during the open burn window, November 6 through November 14, 2010. Open burning with City limits requires a permit, which costs $10.00 and is available at the Parkway Public Safety Center at 800 East Park Street, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. from November 1 through November 12 .
