Memorial Tree Program
This program gives residents the opportunity to honor an individual by donating a tree to be planted within a memorial grove in a City park.
The trees cost $100. A planting ceremony, to which donators are invited, is held during Arbor Week in April.
To donate a tree, fill out and submit the Memorial Tree application.
The Grants Pass Urban Tree Advisory Committee promotes the value of urban trees in Grants Pass.
Tree Canopy Program
This annual program gives 50 city residents the opportunity to purchase a tree from an annually selected list of trees for $50.00 and have it planted in their front yards by the Parks Department. All trees are at least 6 feet tall, and are planted in February.
This program is part of our City’s goal to continue to be designated Tree City USA and improve our urban forest.
Hazardous Tree Program
This program assists property owners with dangerous situations involving trees in the right-of-way.
If you have a tree in the city right-of-way that has become hazardous, fill out the Tree Permit application before taking action. The City will inspect the tree free of cost.
If it determines that the tree is hazardous, the City will cover up to 50% of the total cost for the removal of the hazardous tree, stump grinding and replacement with an approved tree within the city right-of-way.
