The economic heart of Grants Pass is its small business community. This community provides most of the jobs in the area, and a majority of our largest employers started out as small mom and pop businesses. One of the most difficult things for an entrepreneur just starting out is to find capital to get their business from an idea to an actuality.
To help these entrepreneurs out to accomplish their dreams, the City of Grants Pass has started a micro enterprise loan program. This program allows entrepreneurs to borrow up to $10,000 or as little as $300 to start or run their businesses. The loan cannot be for more than 5 years or less than 6 months. The minimum interest rate will be 4% over the Wall Street Journal prime and no less than 8% and will run the length of the loan. A loan origination fee of $50 plus 2% of the loan will be charged to each loan.
